Prior to surgery doctors need to tell us about the scar tissue issue. And the need for movement of the skin area. No one told me anything like that before or after until I went into therapy almost actually a week after surgery although I had in-home therapy. I even had one place I called want to put me With a therapist one month later after surgery. If a friend of mine had not mentioned the scar tissue issue, I probably would have gone with that. Somehow doctors need to understand we need to know those things. It’s not a question we would even think to ask!

Thank you for being here my therapist I had with my right knee did not do this and I had a real hard time stretching my knee out and I'm fixing to have my left knee replaced on July 19th so I am watching all of these and trying to see what I can add to the therapy that possibly another therapist may not use

I have had 2 Unicompartmental knee replacements in one knee lateral 6 months later medial then flash forward to now Sep 22 revised to a tota knee all in a span of 3 years because I am a busy worker lol, plus I had a really bad car accident years ago mixed with degenerative arthritis. Both times I strengthed before surgery which led to fast recovery. Same this time so far one week post I'm achieving 95° degree bend quad activation by day 3 after nerve block but skin tighten, oh my i could just scream! You my sir just saved my life!. I was never taught how to massage across my scar by my PT team! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was using lotion to massagecmy knee because I thought that would help. Now I'll start with the horizontal messaging to loosen the skin.

Hi, i am happy for your detailed information on subjected post TKR issues. I recently had lateral tibial plateau surgery ( ORIF with site plate and screws to cover up depressed plateau) . I have completed 6 weeks and have good extension and struggling for knee bending, kindly suggest if active skin moment with finger over the incision helps me or other best ways.

Hi Tony. Great explanation on P.T. on Youtube.. I have a question. I had total knee replacement 22 days ago. Can not bend my knee to 90 degrees yet. It’s very tight and stiff. Also swelling. Is this scar tissue already. Thank you for your time. Monty

Thanks for your help. My question is around Clicking poping and crunching sound after TNR. I am 18 mos in and have had an arthroscopy to remove the crepitus, but it did not go away. I also have a new stabbing pain in the joint. Have had many opinions everyone says something different from live with it to get a revision. My flex is about 120, just very uncomfortable swelling and pain with a fluid sound. Do you have any thoughts?
