Domenico Cimarosa - “Vè che matta, maledetta!” (L’impresario in angustie)
In an Italian Garden is a celebration of William Christie’s great passion, Italian lyric works from the 16th to 18th centuries. The concert explores the subjects of love, beauty, rage and jealousy with excerpts from the operas of Stradella, Vivaldi and Haendel, as well as madrigals by the contemporaries of Montev. Since its first edition, in 2002, Les Arts Florissants ’young singers’ academy, the Jardin des Voix has the main place in the scene of French professional training. A real breeding-ground for talents, it rained a whole "new generation of singers who became passionate performers and defenders of the baroque repertoire" as Wiliam Christie says. Sonya Yoncheva, Christophe Dumaux, Emmanuelle de Negri or Amel Brahim-Djelloul are part of those talents revealed to the public during its international tours. This edition presents Lucía Martín-Cartón, Léa Desandre, Carlo Vistoli, Nicholas Scott, Renato Dolcini and John-Taylor Ward.
