A new villian in Mulan, Xian Lang. A powerful witch with shape shifting abilities played by Gong Li. I think that she was an Anti-hero, not a villian. No family, no home, no country, she had nothing. Beautiful by looks and kind by heart but life of exile made her bitter and this led to her join Bori Khan.

But Mulan changed her life. Mulan insisted her that she can still take a noble path. In the end Xian Lang led Mulan to Bori Khan and She sacrifice herself trying to save Mulan from the arrow. This led to believe me that she was Anti-hero & her last words was " Take Your Place Mulan ". I think that's enough so watch the video and share your thoughts in comment section. I hope you will like this video. Thanks for coming by.

I just want to tell you that I feel so sorry for Xiang Lang!

She was a witch, but she wasn't a real evil witch, she was just a rejected, broken hearted lonely soul who had no family, friends, home and place in the world, when she was never accepted as she was because she was different.

His sacrifice broke my heart as well because she didn't deserve to die, despite what he did, which he only did because she was loyal to the evil that found him and wanted to profit from him.

She chose a noble path and maybe he died a hero because he saved Mulan's life but his dying in Mulan's arms was so heartbreaking and sad.

I would do anything if I could just get into the universe of the Mulan movie and find a magical way to raise the dead and use it on Xiang Lang and help him start a new and good life.

I hope Mulan honored him and buried him somewhere nice and beautiful where she wouldn't feel rejected and abandoned or alone even though no one, not even others like him, are alone and I hope so much that she found peace because she was, so brave, about a powerful and beautiful woman, so sad for her!!

She was a beautiful and hella tragic character for sure.... A tragic anti-hero, but at her heart she was pure... She was just bound to a tyrant, that's all... I loved her sacrifice scene and I almost cried during it... She is a true hero of the movie, not less loyal, brave and true than Mulan herself. Funny fact. People tend to translate her name as "Fairy Wolf", but if You look at the Taoist perspective (and she is allegedily claimed to be of Taoist descent, even though we don't see it in the movie, damn this NEEDS A PREQUEL!!!!) the prefix "Xian" she bears as her name means, first and foremost, "Immortal"... Not that "immortal" westerners are familiar with, like a vampire that cannot be killed no matter what. From Taoist view, a "Xian" is a title that is only given to people and/or nonhuman beings (it varies I guess) who attained the level of magick practice, that is much higher than ordinary human, BUT is not powerful and potent enough (and spiritually advanced) to become a God/Goddess... Kind of like transitory state. Surpasses human, but is not yet quite Godlike. Sometimes, in very, VERY westernised language speaking, a "Xian", or "Immortal" is almost like a Taoist equivalent of a saint in abrahamic religions... Loosely speaking... Not quite the same and I would say that even more but really from western point of view it's the closest thing I can They say that through years and years and years of devotion, practice and dyscipline, a human being can become a Xian by practicing Magick with aid of other Immortals and Gods, and a Xian can eventually become a God or Goddess (in Tao lore many beings later worshipped as Gods and Goddesses started of being born as ordinary earthly people)... Though there are several instances where the "Xian" addition is being added to Divine beings in certain cases, implying that one is both a Xian and a Shen (God/Goddess), I'm not yet quite sure how does it work... So, anyways, I believe that "Xian Lang" is not an actual name of the witch, but rather a title that she achieved during her training in magick in the temple or something.... A very honorable title. It's like she is considered a "middle ground" between a human state of consciousness and a Goddess consciousness. Kind of like "magickal name" which leads me to believe that her spirit animal could be a wolf, or sth like that, or she at least identifies with the wolf species, hence choosing (or accuiring) such name.... It makes me super damn hungry for any director's ideas about her past which was in fact only briefly touched in the movie by both her and Bori Khan.... I think this adds a new level to that character... How do You think? Your video is great btw 💝

Disney should have acquired rights for this song & use it as official theme for Xian... It fits her perfectly in EVERY WAY!

1:23 would be far better if Xian was sitting crossed legged on the side, like a boss (showman style)... then she stands up, & while facing her back to Mulan, as Mulan says 'its not too late' - Xian sheds a tear (that only we viewers see) - 'I need your help' - she switches back to Mulan & transforms into hawk

I want a spin off prequel just about her with this name: 'Mulan - Ballad of Xianniang'

Did anyone realize: if Phantom of the Opera (Gerard Butler) had a child with Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) - that child would be Xianniang???

She really has the best combination of these two 😍

By accident, I red a spoiler post (before I saw the movie), which said 'Mulan unity with the witch was the best part' - so naturally I expected them to become a duo & continue the story in the sequel... Sadly it didn't happen that way :(

I also thought she would blackmail Mulan for revealing her gender, but she was far better person than that!

I cried so much when an arrow hit her... She was the bone of this beautiful remake, probably the best new live action Disney character... Grhh well she is a witch, she might survive, or at least we deserve a prequel/spin off series about her!!!
