EP 19 - New Experiment Tank Crayfish with Shrimp #TequaticVlog

Here, I tried to make an experimental tank with crayfishes and shrimps to join together. The result was bad. Crayfish tended to attack and eat shrimp even though I fed them often.

I’m so happy that this video got 1K view on YouTube ☺️ I’m glad I shared my experiment to all of you guys and thank you for the view and like I got in this video. So, I would like to clarify something in this video that I uploaded. Kindly read it carefully:

1. I do not recommend you to do what I did in this video. Since, I’m not satisfied enough, I tried to do this by my self. I started this hobby since December 2020. That is what I got from adding crayfish in the tank. I learned by doing something. Thats a fun thing to do. BTW, the crayfishes were last only about 1 or 2 weeks I guess. After that, I moved all the remaining crayfish in my pond. Anyway, Kindly ask me questions in the comment section if you have any☺️

2. About the crab, I did it by unm.... what I said is..... umm... a coincidence. So, I was bought crayfish in fish store then I saw them sell Crabs too. It looked so good. So, I bought it too. At home, I builded the tank and by a coincide I added the crab too since I dont have puloadrium. Anyway, the crab last only 1 day. The next day I free them LOL

3. I’m not giving up with crayfish. So, I made another experiment with crayfish and shrimp. I did it in 64L tank. I’m gonna upload it soon. Well, just a spoiler, It was went so good. Just wait it until I finished it!

This is so good, the dudes at the aquarium store said those dwarf Mexican crayfish could live with the shrimp. They want 10.00 a shrimp. That's a lot money for crayfish food

Guess I have been pretty lucky so far. I have a young adult snakeskin blue moon crayfish. A month after he had settled in I added some ghost shrimp. After 2 months all is well, the crayfish totally ignored them. I then added 2 red cherry shrimp, no problems. Then I added a dwarf Mexican crayfish and a rabbit snail. Several months have passed and to my surprise all are coexisting just fine. They're fed well and there is no plants, just rocks and driftwood. The crayfish does have his own cave and another small hide for the shrimp and dwarf.

Yeah, bottom feeders and plants don't do well with crays unless there are a LOT of hiding spots and not a lot of crays. I have three adult Texas swamps and a few younger from the three adults. I tossed a handful of shrimp I brought home from my office tank three months ago since it was overpopulating. Two managed to survive this long but the rest became cray food. Any plants that go in there get shredded. They even tried eating the plastic ones

dude this is way to fucking small they need at least 10 gallons for at least 3-4 crays since they go after each other for territory

Just to tell u those shrimps are feaders and u can find then at petco and the worker can tell u that craw fish eat them....so

i just started a smal aquarium in my room, i thought all freshwater animals would be kind to each other
i didn't learn much, so i just put them altogether in one tank
after 2 days, most of my little fish, shrimp, were gone eaten by the 3 crayfish on the aquarium..🤣🤣

and now, i have to put the crayfish into "isolation"..
they cute, but don't let this fool you..🤣🤣

So hopefully you learned a few thing!! First the crabs need more terrestrial (land area) they are not truly aquatic. Secondly, crayfish need more space per animal as they are territorial. They can live with shrimp but you need more space and they (crayfish) will eat your plants. That tank would have been great for just those shrimp and possibly 1 crayfish. Nice experiment thought. You would have had more success if it was 120 gallons and filled with a third of water and much more rock / land, surface area above the water for the crab. Do a little more research about each species your going to keep next time and your experiments may turn out a little more successful. Keep up the good videos!!
