The coach only asks me to do 30 single unders...it's been 3 months...still just a mix of 30 single unders, 30 double unders max :(

It is really, really difficult for me. ☹️😢 I've tried, but I did almost three reps before I failed.

I notice I do a single very small jump, almost like a bounce, in between jumps, while the rope is traveling to be in the front.

I don't know why I do this, it just "feels natural". I think maybe I can't move the rope fast enough and the in-between jump helps me maintain rhythm.

Is this okay? Anybody else do this? Should I try to move the rope faster or should I try to resist the in between jumps?

Just for context, I can do about 15 reps (if I am rested), before messing up...

Would be great if you would have explained the reason and effects of the exercise as well as what muscles are involved so you can make a decision to incorporate it into your workouts or not – this way it's kinda a waste of time watching the video. You don't really learn anything new here. You just make bold claims "important exercise" but don't lay out how you came to that claim in the first place 😉
