Choosing a fairway wood can be difficult and it's important to avoid certain mistakes many golfers make. Also the best fairway wood for your game might not be the best and newest tech...In this video I'll also be choosing a fairway wood for the Build My Bag series.

I've gamed my Cobra F7 for the last two seasons. Bought the head gently used, had a shaft fitted. Your closing point is exactly why i'm just not in the market for a fairway wood. I've hit most of the new offerings, and there's so little to be gained. I'm an Assistant Pro, I get the opportunity to hit a lot of clubs at fitting events each year and my F7 is still relevant and paid for! Much love, Peter! ⛳️ 🏌️‍♂️ 👊

Just bought a Radspeed Big Tour for $76usd used. Looks and feels brand new. Golf equipment prices have gone bananas

You really had me in the first half. 😂😂 I saw the three you were mulling over and thought “man ping really doesn’t get much love overall.” Then you pulled it out and said it’s going in your bag. AWESOME. It’ll be three generations before I’m able to put one in the bag but there will absolutely be one in there in a few years! Enjoy it! Can’t wait to see more about it

I bought the Ping g425 sft late last year for £230. Tried it down American golf but bought from a local golf club who had it on offer. It goes about 230 yards and relatively straight. With the size of it it gives me the confidence behind the ball also when my driver is having a bit of an off day I use it then. Absolutely love it 👍🏻⛳️

Hi Peter I'm just getting back into golf after about 6 years away from the game, just got fitted with the Callaway Rogue ST Irons a 3W, 7W and 5Hybrid, I added a Titleist TSI1 Driver that was a bargain as an ex display and it's mint not a blemish on it, I also added the Callaway Mack Daddy 60degree wedge and the Mizuno M-Craft 5 putter which I love. Waiting for the irons and woods to be delivered as I'm the average height of a hobbit at just 5'2 I had to wait for them to be custom made. I can't wait to get back out there. Love your videos particularly the best golfer on youtube series.

Just got the g425 LST, performed exactly the same as g430 at half the price...it's a great club!

i just got fitted again for new irons went cobra had taylor made sim max, and out of all the drivers and 3 woods i hit the clear winner for me (13 handicap) by a large margin was the paradigm, i was hitting every club 15-20 yards further with the tightest dispersion . I couldn't believe how great they felt . I have been a loyal to taylor made but this wasn't even close!

excellent video as always!

I have a garage full of clubs and I frequently take a bunch of similar clubs to the range for a look see. Many times I've been surprised by an older club that just works for me. For example lately I've been crushing an Orlimar strong 3 wood from many years ago. It's straight and long and has a boring trajectory. Another incredible one is my old origonal Great Big Bertha. What a feel and sound that has off the tee! I won't buy anything new.

I went a bit Frankenstein on my fairway wood. M5 5 wood, turned the loft right down and put a 3 wood length shaft in it, love the feel and the open face takes away some of the fear of a left miss

I did a full top end of the bag overhaul this season. G430 max driver, Stealth 2 3W and 3H, Stealth UDI 2. Love them all. Hit the 3 wood like a rocket ship!

I have a cobra Radspeed that I got used last year. Before that my 3 wood was a callaway warbird from the 90’s. I wouldn’t be looking to replace my cobra for more then 5 years because technology just doesn’t change that fast in the game of golf for me to spend that kind of money all the time

Recently switched to a Ping G425 sft 3 wood because they came down in price with the release of the new model. Absolutely love it. Have struggled with the 3 wood in the past, often taking it out of the bag. This club isn't going anywhere. Love the channel, thanks.

I gamed a Cobra King SZ 3 wood for a little over a year and never came to terms with it, no confidence. I actually put it in the closet and didn't use a 3 wood at all for months, but I needed to try something. For a whopping $45 I picked up a TaylorMade R9 3 wood and I love it. Looks, feel, adjustability, it's just fantastic and I have a ton of confidence in it. I want to try out the new Stealth 2+ now, but it will have an uphill climb to beat the R9 for 10% of the price.

I was gaming the same 3 wood for about 10 years, finally got fitted and was put in the Titleist TSr2 with a slightly shorter shaft and let me tell you.. absolute MONSTER off the tee. Been a game changer.

My MD Superstrong has been in bag for about 15yrs & love it. Been looking at an upgrade but gotta be honest, I’m not paying silly money. Probably end up buying something from a previous season where prices have dropped a fair bit

Still playing my old Titleist PT 904f with the ust v2 70gram stiff shaft and nothing I’ve hit lately has made me want to spend the money on replacing it. I know I’m probably giving u a few yards, but it’s familiar and works for me. Not to mention I picked it up for $15.00 used at a local resale shop. Still the best fairway I’ve ever owned!

Playing a TM RBZ 3 wood that is at least 15 years old. No plans to change it. Favourite club in the bag.

Hi Peter, I am completely with you...£500 ???? yeah, no way, no how is that going in my bag. It does look and sound like a great fairway wood but I'm happy with my taylormade stealth 3 wood HL 16.5 degree loft stiff ventus 6.0 shaft and midsize grip. It goes like a bullet and when required I can loft it over the tree's, distance wise, I get an average 240 - 245 yards with it. I have to admit though, it took a few rounds and about 100 balls to properly get used to it. Now though, I hit it off the tee's just as often as my driver ( ping g425 max ). Keep these vid's coming matey. definitely the most entertaining, informative and just damned good fun on youtube so far 🙂

Just recently, my driver decided not to cooperate. I had a Helium Cobra 3w shaft in my stash and managed to picked up an new LTDx Max head off eBay. First time out the bag, off our tight first, straight down the middle with a nice draw to a place on the fairway I’ve rarely visited. The rest of the round went just like that, consequently I’m using it as a fairway finder with my 5 & 7 woods off the turf. Game changer.
