Yeah he might not be super experienced, but practicing for 12 hours a day, he might end up being the best Derrick Man to ever step foot on a monkey board. I have been on rigs for 17 years and seen a whole lot trust me... Especially all kinds of people from different walks of life. And what I realized the most was that were all so different but yet so much the same. Lets pull each other up, not drag the next man down. The same worm or guy you clown everyday and make do all the stupid sh*t could be the same guy to save your life one day and without him you wouldn't of made it home to see your family. I've seen it, so it's cool to kick the sh*t but not belittle anyone, cause someone like me, super nice respectful, helpful etc... have had to many people test me with that Mr tough guy BS and had to open up plenty cans of woop ass because I won't allow mfkrs take my kindness for weakness cause a fight comes with the deal... Bless him for sure. He’s new for sure. I don’t use a rope trippin in. Maybe for heavy weight and collars but for drill pipe. No sir. Look ma no hands!!!! You experienced guys know what I’m talking about right?? Letting the drill pipe fall from the back of the boards and lay into the elevators and latch its self with no hands!!! That’s what that means for you people who don’t know. This was my most favorite job ever for 13 years of my life. The higher the better. Crown??? All day every day. I’m a hand you hear me?

When we were fishing Otis tools in the past, 113 stds of 5.5" d.p., 33 stds 3.5" d.p. in 12hrs shift 4 round trips we made each day. Imagine, 84 days per hitch, in West Africa, with Global Marine drilling co. We finished that well after 2.5 hitch.

You should see how a short stack is latched when the pipe is barely tall enough to go into the board's finguers.fingers. You kick the pipe into the elevators and grab the bales on the blocks and pull hard...now watch the floorhand below because with the blocks swinging the pipe comes up and the bottom whips towards the drum.
