Steps to calculate built-up area in AutoCAD

Analyze your drawing based upon your Mode of measurement finalized with the client.

Differentiate between the areas depending upon Utilities i.e Flats, flower beds, refuge area, service area, service slab, ducts, open areas.

Create a separate layer in autoCAD for each utility depending upon mode of measurement.

Set units in terms of meters to calculate areas of each unit.

Prepare an Excel sheet for entering the areas calculated for each utility in proper format depending upon mode of measurement.

Area which is enclosed from top and bottom is considered for Built up area calculation.
