Things you should know before visiting Egypt - Part 1

✈️ 1. Drones aren’t allowed, so don’t try to bring one! Customs will take it.

🎟️ 2. For Americans, get the 30 day visa on arrival. It’s $25 US and they want exact change and don’t take card.

👮‍♂️ 3. We recommend hiring a meet and assist service to get through customs. That way they can help on your behalf if the customs agents try to give you a trouble. Unfortunately a lot of travelers have run into trouble bringing camera equipment, so it’s also a good idea to split up your gear among multiple bags to make it look less prominent.

Customs is more difficult for locals than foreigners . As an Egyptian for example, i can't buy a product form outside Egypt because it costs alot, may be 100% of the original product price or even more customs fees . So they aren't doing that to tourists only, locals are suffering too.

The first tip mentioned was not to bring a drone. 😅

What’s the name of the local company that escorts you through baggage and customs?

There is a YouTube guy that has a channel about FOOD. Even though he had Written permissions and agreements with the Gov't Tourism Press office, and local guide help, Customs confiscated ALL his video gear, and he was constantly hassled by Police about taking videos. He said it was the Worst travel experience he ever had, Egypt does not respect Tourists, and Egypt need to get their act together.
