Amazing Oil and Water Science Experiment | Mixing Oil and Water

Hey Everyone,

Today we are doing a very quick and easy Oil and Water Science Experiment. It is a very fun, easy way to explore what happens when oil and water are put together.
This science activity is very easy to set-up. You only need a few supplies that you already have in your home.

You need:
oil
bottle
water
food color

So, while doing this experiment your kids might be wondering why oil and water don't mix. So here is the Science behind this:
Oil molecules are only attracted to other oil molecules. Just like the oil molecules, water molecules are only attracted to other water molecules. So, they don’t mix together. The reason the oil floats on top is because the oil is less dense than water.

This simple experiment teach them about density and such activities helps them in development of different skills like problem solving, critical thinking and decision making.
