How can we see the Lord face to face til we have faces?

We tell ourselves so many stories. Some of these stories are true and some of them are not. One challenge we have is to tell true stories...about ourselves and about the Lord. In order to be able to see the Lord face to face, we will need to know ourselves and some before God as our true selves.

It blows my mind how powerful this homily is. For the past six weeks i've been struggling is with the fact of being between protestant and catholic churches. I thought by learning everything from different churches that we could bring our is spiritual family together. So I started seriously studying the bible and the catechism with college level notes. In doing that I realized that I wasn't showing my true face to God. Then I understood why my ideas were actually Gnosticism and how catholicism is the only way and the one true church. And now my life and the bible is opening up in ways I never thought possible. I give my life completely to the catholic faith now. And i'm ready to wrestle with God like jacob did. I'm so blessed that god would have so much mercy and grace for me even though I have no reason to deserve it. I am unworthy and he still uses a welp like me.

I’m so blown away right now on a random Thursday in my student union. Remained that God can meet you anywhere just as you are. His reference to literature reminded me of Plato’s cave. The difference between Plato’s Cave (BC) and Christ (AD) is that now, instead of chasing the light out of the cave, the light (Christ) comes to YOU inside the cave and unchains you. and for the sake of that light’s magnificence, it leads you out of the cave and into a reality too bright for our flesh to bear: eternal life with Him.

I have the opposite problem. It angers me that people don’t know me or try to. But Americans don’t know how to know each other. So I’m trying to know others and hopefully they learn how to do it as Christ teaches me how to know them.
