The old expansions had such interesting items. A lot weapons had weird abilities like stuns, faerie fire, disarms, thunderstrike, and so much more.

This is what I loved about old wow, I know there are downsides to it and having someone with a specific weapon as a requirement to down a boss can also be considered gatekeeping. But I just love the synergy of these items, and let weaker geared people still be incredibly useful by getting them these weapons.

The two Champion swords showcase just how insane some Vanilla items could be. The Khorium version is a full 12 levels higher in requirement - with the same proc. Exactly the same proc. 120 strength for 30 seconds is super strong.

Its also why they nerfed Vanilla flasks and potions too going into the expansions - they were way too strong. Some Vanilla items are still almost as good as Wrath ones - the +30 ranged hit rating scope, for example is only marginally lower in stat budget then +40 crit or haste ones - and 20 levels behind!

never messed with this stuff while raiding back in the vanilla days but it was still cool to see these in the game, there were plenty of people back then who couldn't raid so obtaining a decent blue or epic of any kind was a big deal

I remember stormherald. Lots of arms warriors using that in arena, the proc wasnt super reliable, but could be absolutely nasty. If I remember right, combat rogues had a talent to make one handed maces have a chance to proc too, stuns for days.

the other thing that made stunherald op in tbc was that it had 3.8 speed, it hit really hard compared to the other weapons which had 3.6 speed

Nice list, but i kinda miss some of the new effects you can get on your Weapons via Embelishments in DF. Jeah, it is nothing a Weapon comes with automatically, but they are kinda nasty to, at least some of them ^^

I really love the dept of every topic touch in this channel, I love your videos, I have some suggestions like, History of first in the world, toching every class usefulness in that fight, and a top 10 weapons per expansion will be nice, we have top 10 weapons in general, but divided for expasion could bring more info and history, this video is almost a top 10 vainilla crafted weapons

I'd like to see a video essay on whether obscure combinations of stuff that can oneshot bosses unexpectedly or buff DPS by over 100% etc. - 'fun' that Blizzard apparently likes to remove - should actually be allowed to stay in the game. A discussion on the pros and cons of having stuff like that from someone as well versed in historic WoW as yourself and your team.
