The real secret is to have a lightsource pointed at the lens and have water spots on the lens from filtered water.

you forgot how to get bokeh balls in the front. have the lights close to the camera lens and subject far away gives a similar effect but with the lights in front of the camera.

I prefer 'BALLS' but the scientific name is "Circles of Confusion". Sat in the library for over 3 evenings over forty years agoreading a book just titled Circles of Confusion. No more thanks to the Tinternet.
