Omega Force teams up once again with Nintendo to deliver a new Musou/Warriors take on a big Nintendo property. Following up from the fascinating but flawed Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, can the developer overcome the older game's performance problems? And how does image quality and gameplay stack up? Series veteran John Linneman has the full story.

I played though all of Age of Calamity in splitscreen. I'm pretty sure it dips down to single digits sometimes.
I'm just happy they give us the option to play in split screen. More developers should do this.

I appreciate the audio mix on your videos! Love how John’s voice comes through the front channels and background music through rear speakers. The subtleness adds so much quality to your videos :)

THANK YOU FOR CHECKING MULTIPLAYER

Seriously, frame rate analysis videos always ignore multiplayer FPS and that's always what I'm looking for. I spent so long looking for frame rate analysis for split screen in AOC and couldn't find it, I swear it was running at single digit FPS if someone was playing as Urbosa.

I just do not understand why so many Japanese developers seem to be allergic to a 30fps cap at this point lol. Especially on Switch, especially in an action game, especially in 2022. Just give a toggle option at the very least.

Id be more understanding if they were targeting 60 in combat and coming close mostly, but its nowhere near that, so why bother with forcing it unlocked

I loved Age of Calamity. The dips in frame rate were annoying at the end but it was fun. I enjoyed the demo of Three Hopes can’t wait to play it.

I personally wasn’t that excited about this title until the demo. Can’t wait to play it!

Actually, this isn't the first game they've done which combines the original games artstyle, and game mechanics well. You forgot to mention Persona 5 Strikers at the start of the video. That game perfectly establishes the same look, tone, and gameplay associated with P5. To the point that it feels like a true sequel, with reimagined action combat. It's awesome to see they're continuing this trend with Fire Emblem... 👀😁👍

I'm very surprised with Three Hopes, it's exceeded a lot of my expectations. It looks better than Three Houses in a lot of little ways, and it's very cool

I wish it had a performance mode identical to Fire Emblem Warriors. I'd have preferred a a 540p 60fps mode & a quality mode locked to 30fps.

Looking forward to this game in unpatched cartridge form being used for future Switch vs Switch Pro/2/X benchmarks!

The best musou game I have played so far is still P5S. They nailed putting the combat elements from the main game to musou form.

The frame is really smooth when I play it

Uncapped framerate is what the kids are all about these days. “no cap” as they say.

Played the demo and was impressed with how much fun I was having, the horrible frametime jitter was a big letdown, though, it was quite obvious in motion even without seeing the graphs just by spinning the camera around a bit.

They should've used AMD's FSR like they did with Nintendo Switch Sports.

Not a surprise really. Omega Force were never really known for their stellar tech and performance.

Which is a shame for a dev as old as they are. It feels like they do the bare minimum each game.

Personally compared to the last Fire Emblem warriors game this one is definitely more fleshed out thanks to it riding on Three houses :)
meanwhile the demo honestly kept me engaged the entire time I played through which surprised me because I'm usually not into the hack and slash type of games.
Ill definitely be picking this warriors game up.
