Elite Did Something I Never Expected

With the final Thargoid Titan fully invading Sol, Earth, and the Core Systems. This grand finale event got me grinding all the way to billions of credits, and finally getting of the late game engineering grinds out of the way.

Elite Dangerous is a game that features a 1 to 1 scale simulated milky way galaxy, with a fully simulated Human Civilization called "The Bubble"

5 shards and a shield. Check out CMDR MECHAN' build. I run out of ammo before I get past 75% damage on my ship. Average about 14 mil per run. o7

I had so much fun in this event. This is truly Elite at its peak. Keep defending Earth

Most bombers, especially solo bombers have dropped the vent beam entirely, and are running a medium shard in it's place. Heatsinks are the best way to keep cool, plus beaming the titan counts as attacking it, which makes it mad (more patrols and it shoots at you). Heatsinks are very cheap to synthesize, requiring only two g1 mats, so that's what we do between runs. AX means synthing LOTS of heatsinks, in general.

Close 8 vents -> do 100% damage on core -> 28million credits

Thargoids got pissed for real so they appeared over New Jersey.

I hope the Thargoid game loop doesn't go away with the final titan. I'm fairly new to the game and just started into unlocking engineers and getting into powerplay. When the Titan jumped to Sol I bought the AX pre packed ship and have been doing what I can. If it all goes away when I'm just getting into the loop that would stink. I 've not collected thargoid stuff, vivisted any thargoid worlds or had a chance to really explore all of the thargoid content. Hopefully they come up with something to keep the content around with the possibility of more titans coming to the bubble in the future.

Yup i got my fleet carrier thanks to the infestation (thargoids are bugs and a hive-mind, so infestation seems more appropriate than invasion)

Elite is currently in the best state I've ever seen it, and I've been playing elite games since i was old enough to walk and talk (literally)

Looking forward to the future of this game. And I'm also looking forward to the new players that videos like this will bring in. I really enjoy helping people. In fact, there was a streamer having issues figuring out AX combat, and they allowed me to come and help them out some, leading to new friends and a huge amount of credits.

As someone that has run a Python Mk 2 as a titan bomber for a while, I'd like to make a couple quick suggestions to help you out.
First, and I saw someone else mention it, drop the beam and add a shard.
2, equip 1 or 2 heatsink launchers (1 if you've got the mats, 2 if you don't) and only 2 Caustic Sink launchers. Honestly, you can get through the caustic field with just 1, but I run 2 just in case I screw up my entry.
I can hit 5 vents consistently, occasionally getting a 6th. I'm not a good enough pilot to get all 8 with a Python. With those 5 though, I can usually get 16-19 million credits per run using premium ammo. I also use the 'die when out of ammo' stunt to respawn back on my carrier with full premium ammo. I've only had to synthesize premium ammo maybe twice and I've hit 4 titans. I'm guessing that if you store the module, it loses the premium ammo tag.
I got into the Thargoid war late, like 3 titans already down late. But I was able to earn enough doing AX to buy and outfit a carrier, plus bank 7+ years of upkeep payments on the carrier and still have another 6 or 7 years in my commanders account. And have fun while doing it. FDev stepped up their game this year and I think they've give Elite a huge breath of new life.

I mean, surely they've been spending all this time building an incredibly detailed and logical simulation of the Goid bubble and after this event it will be time to infiltrate and start taking the bugs out once and for all? So I feel like we'll see multiple titans in the future (in one instance)

Those human's who were saved and with drawn from the thargoid's in which the majority or perhap's all of which are in quarentine. Leave's a loop hole, in which can sprout some time in the future.

I have never done a Titan run and all I have is a Krait MKII. I have no idea what I'm doing.

i mean, it may not be as "unexpected" as advertised, but that doesn't make it any less significant.

3 billion? I've been here since the beginning and have accrued somewhere in the vicinity of 50 billion from this war

I haven't played in years, since before expansion where you can walk around. It might be time to jump back in with my VR headset.

My theory.
We'll get some version of the thargoids that we'll be able to fight on the ground.

Maybe good zombies?

I'm more than sure a giant, advanced space civilization of hivemind insectoids won't just say "aw we lost" at the war, we might have to push them back yet again, maybe fdev will make us invade their nebulas, their homelands, who knows, im like 90 percent certain thargoids won't just end

So what will happen after we destroy the titan?, is the war is over and no more thargoid? Or we going to push them to their territory?, or they will just pull palpatine move and summon more titan somehow?

ive never done titan bombing before, just did it last night to get my hands on the new fsds, i feel like its a lot easier solo. i dont run a thermal vent beam, seems like a waste of a slot if i can run a missile rack instead
