He’s a good kid and a good player. He’ll be fine. Give him some time.

The instant gratification and Ronaldo/ Messi era has really messed up with peoples heads. even the best players in history had slow seasons as teens or even one or two seasons when they are older.

Jonathan David went almost the entire first half of first season with Lille without scoring a single goal, and he has a much better team around him. Not time to worry yet.

This is good for the US. You can't realistically expect your #1 ST be a teenager with only MLS experience and expect him to go to the WC and bang in goals. Unfortunately for him his transfer fee was inflated because of the MLS owner paying the fee, but in the long run this will help.

It was the wrong move team wise, but there’s just no turning down $20 million

Bro he just turned 19, in a team that provides no service.

Anyone know where you can watch a full episode of Futbol Americas?

no wonder these guys are always talking crap. they have super high expectations. 6 goals in 10 games for a 19 year old taking a big jump up in the quality of the competition he's playing against?

Nah. Jonathan David’s had a terrible first season for Lille but now is having a wonderful season for Lille

13 matches is probably a long drought for one team, but that's combined across 3 teams and multiple competitions. The kid needs time to acclimate - and he could very well have a Josh Sargent-esque experience in Germany, where he never scores because the team is always struggling and doesn't create chances in big numbers...kinda like the USMNT.

If a guy has 3-4 great chances to score across 13 games, and scores zero, that's not a huge problem. If a guy has 30 great chances to score across 13 games, and scores zero, that's a different story entirely.

He is only 19, no where near his prime, he will be fine

Pepi has to do more than score a goal he has to impress that’s a big 20, 000, 000 million dollars 💸 my prediction he will return to mls or liga mx

Fun fact: Augsburg has never scored when Pepi is on the pitch

he is 19 years old, in a new country, and probably doesnt speak a lot of german. he needs time to get comfortable

He'll be fine. If anything, the struggle will make him better. His potential ceiling is insane, he just needs some time to adapt and learn

He's still acclimating to the Bundesliga after coming off of MLS offseason, he has had 1 international call up taking him away from the squad, he probably doesn't know much German, and he's one a team that's not dominating the game offensively in the Bundesliga so it's hard for him to get quality chances to boost his confidence. I'll start judging him at the start of next season, but now I'm too worried, plus he's about to turn 20

Having 'no service' can't explain it... that's for sure. One other guy scored atleast 3 goals in that period for them.

No need to panic. He'll need time to adjust. He will have a great season next year just you all watch.

Hopefully he will be able to adjust and excel. 162 days is a long slump. So much of this game is mental

If he was that good he would score goals in the Bundesliga 2
