Here in Pakistan liberals have completely taken over the universities... I have done Masters in International Relations and most of the professors in our Universty were just nuts.
One of our professor was hardcore liberal and one day he I asked him that why fascism is evil and he started saying that Hitler did this and that, and my point remained the same that what it has to do with fascism, why don't you teach about fascism and than rationally reach at the conclusion that Fascism is bad (thanks to all the nuts sitting in the class I was labelled fascist despite of the fact I didn't even knew the proper definition of fascism )
One day he was just spitting venom against Russia and putin and their invasion of Ukraine and was saying that Russia is "communist " and I told him that Sir Russia isn't communist and he was be like than why Putin is president of Russia for so long (lolz if anyone can be a long time ruler like Stalin than he must be communist, just imagine his ignorance )
You can just imagine how liberal west has turned into a cult in my country, they support each other (that's how that professor made it into the University faculty) and discourage anyone who oppose them, they will oppose you not only in the classroom but also in practical field.

I am a philosophy nut who searches lectures weekly. You sir, do one of the finest jobs of objectively and calmly examining and explaining theories and even how theories should be studied. We need your voice. Please keep at it. I am sharing your channel with friends and adversaries alike. In this age of shameless mass indoctrination in universities worldwide you stand as an essential figure opposing that indoctrination; representing the worth of at least being aware of the broader spectrum of ideas. Can't give enough thanks.

Baby in the background is awesome, music is a little distracting.

You certainly have some very positive skills to explain the sometimes difficult, heavy and/or hidden political and philosophical topics - also it’s very clear that the woman (your wife?) in the background is a good sparring partner. These sessions deserve a much bigger audience.

What do you recommend as an introductory text? To political philosophy or theory

i would have enjoyed this without the music. Appreciate your talk about Dugin somewhere else by the way. Hope to hear more (without the music)

Interesting talk. Maybe drop the music and move the infant to a different room next time?

When I got my political science degree, nobody in the department ever mentioned Dugin, nobody on campus ever mentioned Nietzche in a political context, and the only professor who ever mentioned Heidegger would immediately dismiss him as a “fascist.”

I can see both perspectives.
I can see the argument for free and open evaluation of all ideas of thought, but I can also see the risks involved with so doing.
As humans, depending up where we sit on the normal distribution of intelligence, we are more or less able to critically analyse information we are presented with. Furthermore, we all have sub conscious biases that are highly likely to be evolutionary advantageous, to be trusting of kin and those whom appear to be kin, but conversely, to be highly suspicious or aggressive toward those who do not appear to be kin.
My long winded point being that, ideas that appeal to the subconscious are more easy to spread to those unable to critically evaluate their merits. Therefore, ideas, if they push the right buttons, can be dangerous in the hands of those with a selfish agenda. Globalism and immigration has already resulted in all countries being highly heterogenous in terms of their genetic diversity, it seems to me that although imperfect, liberalism is the only show in town that offers some hope to avoid us feeling the desire to exterminate the other. Genocide being the outward expression of that inherent suspicion of the non-kin other. Therefore, anti-liberalism and their powerful ideologies do threaten the stability of the globalist western states. Although, I find the ideas of Dugin no more absurd than others, I can see there is no intrinsic truth in them other than being a placebo-like cure for the existential angst of the simple minded. I’d much rather we avoided the scenario where we start slaughtering each other, far too many extermination pits have been dug around world in the centuries since the empires dissolved, with the latest more than likely to be discovered in lands of Ukraine again.

dr. millerman - I wonder how you interpret Zizek's argument that there is a nonreducible antagonism or difference between right/left wing politics such that soviet union is a tragedy and hitler was a sick joke, "bad people got into power and did bad things". do you think this is a fallacious argument, or strawman, or unfair? or is there merit to zizek's point that there is no nonpolitical interpretation of the antagonism?

Love your videos, but the music is not such a good idea.

Hi Michael,

I have a very serious question and you may one of a few people that are qualified to answer it. My question is simply why would some people view Dugin as a "Satanist" or his ideas as "Satanic"?

I recommend watching this short clip where Dr. Anca Cernea supposedly exposes some of Dugin's ideological influences:

Dr. Cernea seems to have a perspicacious insight in geopolitical matters and I respect her; however, I'm not sure if she has been misinformed in this case. I would love to hear your two cents.

 Keep up the good work!

Just found Millerman in a Dugin discussion, and came back to the start to see what Millerman was all about. I'm sure he learned a lot about Dugin in his translation work, but it's hard to take seriously anyone who got all the way through a PhD in philosophy and still refers to fascism as "right-wing."
