UK Chief Secretary to the Treasury John Glen comments on fiscal policy as Britain’s inflation rate cooled more than expected to the lowest level in more than a year, a sign that soaring interest rates may be starting to curtail the worst wage-price spiral in the Group of Seven nations. They are celebrating way too earlier. I can't believe anyone thinks that this is good. On average food is still going up in cost. The majority of categories are not moving anywhere, food for example. Owner occupiers are paying more for their cost of living in their home. Let's not talk about the profiteering!!! We are in a dangerous wage price spiral, which means companies will have to pass the price on to you to make up staff costs and it becomes a vicious cycle. We have a services economy. I think we are going to have a mortgage crisis as people's fixed terms end. This is not good so I don't know why they are celebrating. The Government are hiding a huge problem.

If they want to lower public spending, why is my mortgage 320£ more per month for no reason. Get in the bin.

I have a idea people to stop spending money only buy the food we need and have the governments friends get annoyed for a change

I’ve never heard so much rubbish in all my life, tell that to the pensioners who cannot buy a loaf of bread because of wholesalers profiteering and a weak government allowing them to do it obviously the higher price more tax along with energy companies

No spending while climate change is wrecking havoc on infrastructure is ridiculous.

Rather than spread the pain over the wealthy through the tax system, the Govt wants to focus on a relatively small group of homeowners who need to refix their mortgage over the next 1-2 years 🙄
