Try all the hdmi. They will be broken in this tv series. Try to reflow/change the input switch chip

I picked CRT SONY TV at dumpster few years ago. With chopped wire as well. Switched it on, found that it can't switch channels, just keeps #1. Googled a bit and found that it is EEPROM storing channels dead. Purchased new one, programmed it, and.... dropped TV screen down the floor while turning&moving before repair.
So. EEPROM replaced and working, but picture is rainbow. Obviously CRT grill shifted.... =(

I have the 55" version of that tv model. It died last year finally with the dreaded LG startup logo stuck on the screen. Couldn't recover it after trying the troubleshooting steps and even trying to flash firmware to it via the USB. Can't complain too much as I got 12+ years out of it.

i found a 24" analogue tv dumped in the trolley shelter at a supermarket a few years ago i took it home and it worked fine.
i used it as a monitor for about 4 years and i still have it at home.

I had one like that saved from work, all the digital port were dead, but the analog was fine, used it for awhile until the display Partially died

I actually much prefer the look of plasmas to LCDs, shame they were phased out too soon. Fortunately OLED is a worthy replacement now...

A neighbor tossed out a broken screen 55" LG TV (55UN6955UF). I took it apart for grins & giggles.
Good News: There are two large thin sheets of plastic inside (one clear & one white opaque).
Bad News: When I was taking off the frame work in the back, tiny roaches appeared! =O

These were notorious for the HDMI chip to go bad…it’s a 40 pin chip. Replaced mine two times but broke again shortly after. Other than that still great picture quality due to full array local dimming.

I got a small LCD TV from the dump and when it showed a menu it had small green lines running down the screen but were not visible when watching a program. Tested with DTV antenna, composite works not sure about HDMI. Sound works too.

Im surprised it didnt lock up on the boot screen that's what most of these do, reflow usually lasts a few years, I got mine out of the trash, paid a local shop to reflow it and check it for 50$, lasted a few years, really nice picture. You think the TV is heavy try lifting the base !

The ethernet is for firmware update and to install some apps from their failed appstore, because nobody want to program stuff specifically for that tv. But you can most likelly download and install some games.

I got a free Panasonic 37 inch hdmi full hd set the other week the screen cleaned up perfectly and the mark went.

Found a 4K 60" Vizio on the side of the road a few months ago. Nothing wrong with it aside from maybe one LED backlight out. But it doesn't bother me

Can happen to anyone. I just found totally reasonable Gaming computer (Passmark 10000) by the garbage bin covered with snow.

Seems like some sort of color shift that we observe on crt tvs when magnet is brought close to them
Then realized that this is an lcd tv
