Vehicle Lift adding Pressure Gauge to weigh cars

Using a vehicle lift to also weigh cars.

Some of the links above I may or may not make a few cents on if you purchase them. They are all items I bought/continue to buy or would buy with my own money.

Useing a Bendpak LR60p from the 1990's. I bought it cheap but I personally think the Quick Jack BL7000 (also made by Bendpack) would be a better all around option.

I find it impressive that the lift will hoist an Expedition. The math was interesting.

Nice add on to the lift. A lower PSI gauge would be easier to read. A fried of mine use to mix paint to make a off color to paint his tools. He was tired of people visiting his shop & never returning tools. The off color was easy to identify so the "borrowing" came to an end. 😏
Stay safe, Joe Z

Leave it like it is, just clear coat it to stop the rust.Know one likely to steal it.

Dear Ginger! And this same principle is how loaders weigh what they have in the bucket except they have positi0n switches so the scales weigh within the same bucket height every time. Looks like the old Victor gauge came off the oxygen side of a regulator on a torch set maybe. I have a glycerin filled job on my wood splitter I got from the rock crusher that they never used. Wood don't hold a light to granite! Thanks, Pal! Good job and Ginger is a doll! Healers are!

Paint the lift the SixtyFive way. Whatever metal paint you have laying around the shop for free is the color that's chosen. 😁 Personally I favor blue.

I would say black as to not draw attention to it like you said. Eyes wonder on some but maybe not. Great content as always. Thanks.

I put a gage on my car lift years ago. I found the weight of all the arm and I put a known weight, a pallet of pellets works great. I did try to calculate from cylinder and piston diameters and it was close.

I would love to get a lift like that! I am only 34, but I have a bad lower back due to my foolishness when I was a delivery driver for Culligan. Before I could get a lift like yours though, I would first need a paved driveway...and that ain't cheap! :)

Very cool lift. Hope you got it fairly inexpensively. Personally I would hate to leave it outdoors but depends on how much room you have. Thanks for the video.

Just give it a good clean and apply some hard (carnauba?) wax to keep the rust at bay. I reckon if the paints sound, leave it alone. Thanks for sharing 65. Stay safe and keep up the good work. 👍🖖😎🚙🏍🐶🦴

I have same lift It will go up and down with nothing on it Add a small car under under 15-2000 lbs will not of up. Touches chassis and stops. Motor running good. Going to add a gauge to see if working. Can you give me other places to look. Thanks

Doesn't seem to take much pressure to lift that Expedition.

I'd say paint it black. Oil won't show up as well too lol

So you have dibbled with the calculator and tryed to get the "Magic number" for quick calculation.
But it's not a linear relationship :-(
i like the extention up/dn cable :-D.
