Send & Receive Text Messages on Samsung Galaxy Watch 6

Can you text on Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 ? How to Receive & Send text messages

My problem with google messages and the watch are.
I have the watch and phone default message are set to google.
My phone is set to keep notifying me every 5 minutes if i do not open a message. ( Dont want to miss a message)
If i receive a text message i get it on the watch, i can reply and keep chatting, but if i dont go back out and specifically opem google messages (on the watch or phone) and open the conversation it will still show as unread, and my phone will remind me.
Like i said. Google messages is set to default on both, but to me, when getting the initial message sent to me it looks like it opens in samsung messages, on the watch.
Kinda like samsung doesnt want google messages to open automatically.

Watch 6 is very choppy. An exact replica of the watch 4.
