Simple and right on the money! I especially appreciate the tip about carrying it in the field upside down and loose.

I’ve got a RRS tripod and it’s always a bit of a chore to get the legs out. Gravity doesn’t help me at all.

Great advice about travel and keeping the knuckles loose.

Keep’em com’in Moose!

Great advice! In my 50 years of photography using tripods, I never thought of this.

Excellent advice. As for knuckles, the naming origin I suspect can be found in (even your own) the use of the word 'joints' for the segment dividers of the tripod legs -- look at a finger on your hand and see the knuckles marking each joint in the finger. Cheers!

My knuckles are pretty good, but my knees are killing me....
I wish I could leave them loose like that, might help me stand up quicker!
Kidding aside, interesting idea. It would be nice to see you showing us the setup as you do it. Greg

If I lay mine in back of my Jeep or Pickup (covered) the rolling around a little will always tighten them. I always use a zippered bag.
