I think they're supposed to be like 'real' Dogs until old enough to 'talk' and walk on 2 legs, they just threw that out with the 'Baby race' episode, Socks has started talking now etc

I think it can easily be explained via Baby Race. The whole episode isn’t just about parenting being hard, it also shows that some children learns different from others. They have their own special ways of thinking.

I think its because newborns are calmer as puppies and are usually carried around by their mom and dont do much moving at all and by one year theyre running around crazy. Bluey bingo and muffin are older and more mannered and dont have all that energy

My sister got a Bluey play set and it came with Muffin and Socks, at first, I thought socks was like a pet dog 🥴 I didn’t realize she was Bluey’s cousin 😂

I have a theory:
Every 39th episode of a season is gonna be a muffin episode, because so far every 39th episode of S1 and 2 the main focus of those episodes are muffin?!??!?!?!!!?!!

I personally think they just forgot. Like they wanted her to be more like a dog but then after a whole season they probably forgot the reason they made her more of a dog OR they wanted to add in the episode and couldn’t really go back and erase socks being a dog. I mean socks is WAY bigger than the babies in baby race. But I think it’s implied they are older since they are learning to walk.

In season 3 she isn’t feral at all! She is just a baby in season 1 and 2.

my theory for socks can be explained in one word. Lycanthropy.

I think it its partly physical development. In seesaw. We also see Snickers and PomPom walk on all 4s rather than crawl on their knees. So its likely that for some kids if they feel like their legs are too short, they opt for all 4 walking rather than crawling.

They were walking on two legs because all of the babies were learning how to walk, it was their walking phase and bluey was a late bloomer. Socks also walks/ runs with four legs because she cannot balance herself up like most babies. And during the wise old wolfhound episode she pretended to be blueys pet dog for a video for bingo. But remember she is the youngest child/ cousin in the whole heeler family so my text may explain most of it. But if u watch the series you could understand better and they play games and explain it a lil. I hope I helped❤

My doberman mix, the sweetest dog in the world, was a massive terror when he hit the toddler stage. He just turned three and he's now a sweet energetic boy again. I know he's technically an adult, but he has such 6-8 year old child energy! He definitely resembles some of Bluey's classmates.

I like to think of it as a metaphor for developmental disabilities. I have one, so it was nice in the episodes where she was a little behind everyone else how she wasn’t excluded or told to act like the others. No one asked about it. No one cared
