The Downfall of Mazda?

Is Mazda going downhill or will a prototype finally make it to the production floor? This is a car brand that I WISH would get us a rotary sports car, or sports car in general; but only time will tell if this is legit or not..

They're actually doing very well, I'm really happy they didn't make these cool concepts yet and made crossovers, whenever they make something cool they get near bankrupting so at least they made much money these 2 past years with these suv which are objectively the best of their class for sure jn terms of everything

I don't think Mazda is failing. But they are working wit wat gets them the most money. People forget that Mazda is one of the smallest Japanese cars companies. SUV are selling and Mazda SUV are affordable, have very high quality interior and sexy exterior. And the handling isn't all that bad even on the bigger cx90

I mean Ferrari literally has a car called the "super fast", I wouldn't say Mazdaspeed is childish, it's literally their historical performance division

Given how small Mazda is - it's a frickin miracle that the MX-5 even exists. The 86 was a collab between two HUGE companies. Even the Z4/Supra needed a collab for two giant companies to become a reality.
Mazda's moving up market and that requires a more serious image. Cars are getting more expensive - so for Mazda to be able to sell a sports car at the price point sports cars cost today, they need to move up market. See the issue?

In this case we really just have to be gratefull for what exists.

I've owned Dodge, Ford, Chevy and a Mazda. The Mazda was the only car that never gave me issues.

literally every car manufacturer is focusing on SUVs coz thats what makes them money. If thats the standard for "failing" then every car company (except maybe McLaren) has failed including Ferrari

If we're honest, it's lucky for us Mazda still exists. They're a smaller car company that Ford propped up for decades, now Toyota. They've created some of the most interesting cars over the years, but reality is they have to produce what sells...and don't have the wiggle room to bring out something that will sell in small volume and lose money...kind of like the Miata.

The mazda 3 desperately needs to become the civic type R competitor its meant to be

Ok but real talk, Mazda has NAILED the looks of its modern cars at this point, inside and out. The new(ish) 3 is a gorgeous little car and can be bought with a manual, all they need is to upgrade the engine a bit and the suspension and you’ve got a great little GTI replacement once the GTI stops production.

" Mazdaspeed is childish" your motto is "Zoom Zoom"

Very simple, even large car companies do operate that way.
First they need to sell enough Borollas and Camcords or other CRVRAVs so these sales can fund cars like niche fun to drive low sales vehicles...
So buy more CX90s CX5s or CX30s instead of boring competition than we will get next gen RX or Mazda Speed trims.
Mazda should offer a performance line on all vehicles they make now, it is super easy specially with turbo charged cars 😉

I don't blame Mazda for going with SUV's, it's where _the_ consumer demand is, and the fun cars have to take a back seat to the more boring commuter options. :(

Mazda is a small company. They gotta keep.making bank with the SUVs so they can have money to try and make cool stuff again.

I drive a 2010 mazda 3 with the 2.5 and a 6 speed. Its a good reliable daily and it puts a smile on my face when I take a corner. Im sad they dont make a manual for the 2.5t in the new ones. It would be something thats easy to do and it would make the new ones a lot more fun

I mean…… if we get a rotary miata outta this, idk who’s gonna be complaining……
Or better yet, if we could get a manual 2.5T mazda3.

Not using the Mazdaspeed brand was the worst idea. Instead they called the high performance Mazda 3 the "Turbo" which is possibly the most generic soulless name they could have come up with. Car enthusiasts know almost every car company today has turbocharged cars so the name "Turbo" doesn't really help it to standout. Add to the fact that it's starts at $32k, so it completes against GTIs, Civic Si, WRX, and a bunch other options. I honestly forget the 3 Turbo even exists. 😅

Mazda hasn't even started to go full swing and bro is already predicting their downfall. I also find funny how when other manufacturers create concepts, it's all cool, but when Mazda does it, "nah bro this never going to market" as if the concepts from other manufacturers ever got to market. Like bro calm down. Let them cook; you don't need to try the food if you don't want it, but let others enjoy it. They don't got Porsche money to pop sports cars left and right (they still have one, though), and they only restarted to research rotaries recently.

True, that’s why The 90s JDM cars are still have their time. They’re not making anything comparable today to then
