"No person is free, who is not master of himself." - Epictetus

In today's video, I break down a Stoic quote from the great Stoic, Epictetus. While I have not had any formal education in philosophy, I do my best to provide a layman's perspective as to what the big homie was attempting to communicate. “No person is free, who is not a master of himself” When I read this quote, I interpret it in this way:
No person who knows not what it means to live “correctly” according to their nature will ever be free. A free person understands they are a human being, imperfect, they do not chase the impossible: perfection and overly ambitious dreams or desires. A free person does not rely on externals to find happiness, they understand happiness comes from understanding themselves and living in accordance with the chaotic and overall neutral nature of the world.
