I hate that the mainstream media keeps treating him and his unhinged party as if they are on the same level as the Dems and that it’s just a difference of opinion or policy. I miss hating him on his stupid TV show that my mom watched before she knew better. He was awful then, but I felt so much safer then than I do now. I wept while watching the Democratic convention this year and I weep sometimes when I see VP Harris speak because her healthy and compassionate sense of leadership, while not perfect (who of us is, but at least she and Walz are honest about it and try to fix mistakes when they're identified), is incredibly sharp, assertive, professional, passionate, and healing. She represents a cathartic and much-needed sense of hope that highlights the insidious brew of trauma that Trump and the like have steeped us in over the past 8+ years. I hope with all my heart that we vote her in and that we then move forward peacefully as a nation.

I had been feeling pumped and positive and excited. And then I went out yesterday on errands and saw a new Trump sign on my street, a couple jacked up trucks with huge flags, one SUV even had Trump stickers plastered over their hood and side windows. And I’m afraid. I honestly don’t know what I’ll do if he wins. America will no longer be a country I want to be in. I just don’t understand how people can vote for someone who if another candidate had said just one of Trump’s or Vance’s lies or demeaning insults it would’ve ended their campaign, yet they have spewed so many of these it’s literally countless. How is that possible?

All I have left is trust there are more of us who see through the lies and hate and will vote accordingly. I have to trust this isn’t how The Great American Experiment dies.

Agreed I hate how they treat these people like they're treating these things like they're credible, normal or acceptable. Even the vocal minority piece scares me bc people don't speak up in opposition in real time, and we give them a platform. The stakes are so high.
