Thanks, man, your video helped me a lot. I was getting really frustrated with the fact that the Home+Return key combination doesn't work but it seems I was just operating on a fake remote. I reached to the merchant and they've sent a replacement without further questions. This time it was an original remote and everything works fine. Cheers.

OK. Thanks for pointing out the differences in appearance. Does the fake one work? I'd like to see a video comparing performance of the remotes. If I can save $10 or more, convenience and performance is whatr I care about. If there are functional differences, I'd like to know. If the remote has longevity issues, if it is cheap, I can just replace it with the current imitation a year or two down the line. Again, I appreciate knowing if it's real or not, but I'd really like to know how differently they WORK.

Thanks for this. 🔆 I've been needing a new remote for about a year cuz like an dum dum, I tossed it across the house to someone and it hit something hard and did something to the internal where now I have to press all the buttons really hard for it to work 😁😊

it's been driving me up a wall, but kept putting off purchasing new one because I didn't want to spend $40-50 plus shipping for a new remote from LG.

Now I know what to look for when I do buy from another lower cost tech site.

I have an lg TV which was supplied with what appears to be a non genuine magic remote. The cursor moves around a lot and it's difficult to select what you want on screen. Is this typical for these fake LG remotes?

And how can thy copy so good a so complex design remote control! Maybe it is made from the same production company as with the original remote, and producing them and selling them under the counter separatly trough alibaba or so. Or they just produce this copy models!?

I seem to have fake one. Excellent quality by the way, without logos. Definite give away for me original registered remote would not deregister after pressing required keys on the replaced magic remote. So definite to say I did not had any magic pointer working.
