FILM DESCRIPTION:
The 1981 mythological fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans is resurrected in this remake from Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier. Discovered at sea as an infant by a weary fisherman, demigod Perseus (Sam Worthington) grows up with no real knowledge of his celestial origins until his watchful guardian, Io (Gemma Arterton), informs him that he is the offspring of Zeus (Liam Neeson). When Zeus' brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) casually wipes out Perseus' family, the grieving son vows to show the gods just what kind of damage humankind can inflict on its creators. Before long, Perseus and a small group of soldiers are venturing out into the desert in order to find a way to stop the Kraken, a terrifying force of nature that an indignant Hades has vowed to unleash upon man should they fail to offer up beloved princess Andromeda (Alexa Davalos) as a sacrifice. Along the way, the soldiers encounter a trio of frightening witches with second sight, contend with Hades' devoted servant Calibos (Jason Flemyng), battle giant scorpions, and come face to face with Medusa (Natalia Vodianova), the dreaded gorgon whose gaze has the power to turn men into stone.

Medusa has a tragic back story though. She was literally played by the gods and finally died lonely and friendless.

I want medusa to have her own movie, just like Maleficent. people need to realize that Medusa was treated very wrongly that she isn't a bad creature, all she want was to be loved.

What I really liked about this is that they could actually depict the sadness in Medusa's face . Turning people to stone was something which was out of her control as the curse made her do that but every time we see her ' human ' face there always is an underlying sadness . As a student of animation I know how difficult that must have been but kudos to the animators for accomplishing that .

When Medusa finally finds a person that can be her friend without turning to stone when he looks at her, he tries to blow up Medusa.

What a great line. They are out to kill Gods and hellish creatures. He wants them to know that mankind is no longer their pawn. That men are coming for them, and he wanted in his final moment to laugh in the face of his gods. Even if it meant he needed to die, he wanted the gods to fear mankind

say whatever you want about the movie, but they hit the nail with this Medusa. She is beautiful and mortal at the same time. Even kinda cute and when you know the backstory, you empathize more with her.
