Uncovering the Insane Utility of Large Language Models

It strikes me that the work we are doing right now around the large language models is of unbelievable utilitarian value to people. I think some people call it the end of the beginning for software at least, and maybe even beyond, because we now can fold software and all the kind of things that we've created over the last 20, 30 years, or since Turing really, integrate them into life in a way that's very life-like. It's an augmentation of what we experience in the same way that cell phone is. The reason that this is all happening, the reason that we are having this debate, the reason that people love this stuff and they love it because it's providing them real utility.
