I insisted on pushing myself to acquire the taste for natto when in reality, it was less about the taste than it was the texture. I could eat SO many kinds of shinky cheeses but it was the slippery squish of the fermented bean that got me. I love it and all the slime now, but in terms of baby steps to trying natto as an adult, at first I would leave out the mustard and just use the soy sauce, spoon a bit of it onto a Pringles chip like a delivery vessel, and both the crunch and the salt went a long way to getting used to incorporating natto into my diet.

I just love natto.. ppl say it's disgusting but it's a kind of tast that you need to adapt to or else you won't like it

If you don't like mustard, like me, don't put in the yellow packet. Just put the packet with the sauce. Didn't know it was mustard at first and didn't enjoy it as much, the second time with just the sauce it was delicious. It doesn't actually have a foul smell despite some saying it has. And its not actually sticky when you eat it, its just like eating boiled beans.

Don’t do that cuz when you put the sauce it will spoil instead if you use the chopsticks to eat it you get to 2 chopsticks and then put it at the middle of the Nat to then twirl it around then pull it out and put the sauce and enjoy!

Just now TV NHK is currently broadcasting a special on natto. The show is called "Tokoro-san's Incident" and also introduces nutritional research and natto culture in America.

I normally just pull the paper a little bit outside the box, then close the lid and pull it, then twist to get rid of the white stuff.

Natto is good. The texture is pretty different, but the taste isn't weird. I'd say it is simple, actually. Also, I couldn't understand the point of the 'hack'? What is it for?
