I saw these things firing on the Falcon Heavy launch and was wondering what they were for. I figured they'd not be so good for fire reduction. Also now know why there's always so much steam at launch. Science is awesome!

the system has to be in Tip-Top shape before a rocket is placed on top of the pad the sound suppression water system and the fire suppression system are designed to protect Launch Pad 39 from the fires of launch. 10 seconds before the rocket lifts off the sound suppression water system and the fire suppression system are turned on and it drains the big giant water tower right next to the pad in 90 minutes. this is so the sound waves and hot exhaust from the engine do not damage the pad when a rocket is lifting off there are several occasions where Launch Pat 39 got damaged and the leading cause was rocket exhaust. back in the shuttle days during sts-131 Space Shuttle Discovery lifted off and this launch pad and one of the sprinklers malfunctioned the result was hot rocket exhaust from the boosters went down the flame trench and blew it to pieces. chunks of concrete and fire brick went everywhere and it took NASA and SpaceX spent 4 months to rebuild and all launches were diverted over the pad B. STS-133 Pad B was deactivated and since then all launches out of Kennedy Space Center have been launched from Pad A.

Great start to install turbines that will work like a water wheel: Salt water recycling and steam generator only./!\
It could take a decade to fix that big of Ozone hole(s).
Like a balloon lose in space: should be throwing the globe off course to some degree. /!\/!\

Good like launching: Space missions with a spring.🙄🙄 "Just flocken shit up": still.
