I do earn a small amount money from amazon affiliate links if purchases are made (and I mean pennies). This does not create incentive to make videos like this. My goal is to make reliable, honest, plant content viewers can trust.

I wish this video came out 2 years ago. This is my favorite plant channel. Happy holidays everyone.

Chris -- absolutely love your videos and watch most of your content. Your pointers are awesome for someone getting into casual plant sales and I've taken quite a bit of inspiration from your semi-hydro growing setup (scaling up in particular -- I'd love to see more content about how you grow and clone at scale).

As usual, great stuff today and I agree with most of your picks - from my experience, I'd say the velvet Philo hybrids (Splendid, Glorious, Majestic) are all reasonably easy-care compared to their non-hybrid counterparts, outside of the verrucosum (and multiple variants) that grows like an absolute weed. Funnily enough my P. domesticum variegata has given me nothing but trouble in LECA -- I'm kind of wondering if I just have a bad clone and need to start over there.

A couple of quick suggestions for future videos - IMO your audio is the only thing holding you back from a bigger audience. Get yourself a better mic over Boxing week and in your edits, you could try the denoise/dehummer effects (I use Premiere Pro, but there's similar stuff everywhere) to reduce some of the background noise in your clips, which can be pretty distracting. Hope this helps, I love the channel and the audio is really my only nitpick. Happy holidays and have a great new year!

What a very informative rundown of best/worst for beginners. I initially did't care for clay pots, but now I see they are really great options for root health and overwaterers. I started my Thai Cons in clay pots with no root issues... until they outgrew their pots. Thais are really beautiful plants, but they are HUGE and sprawling for a house plant. I'm grateful for a front yard that I can still enjoy them as landscape plants. BTW, so awesome you all re in L.A. too! I'm hooked and eagerly awaiting your 2023 events! Happy Holidays and see you all next year!!

Hey Chris, any idea why we see so many obliqua perus with yellowing leaves? Esp juvenile? Do you grow enough of them to have any input? Even people with healthy ones will often have a few leaves with yellowing and visible green veins. Almost like what appears to be an iron deficiency in other plants. Does the plant not like to hold onto it's older juvenile leaves or something? Or is caring for it that difficult? ... Or maybe it just likes doing that yellowing thing. I have a baby in sphagnum so I'm curious.

How do you keep variegated Florida beauty from browning? Any product you like to use?

MY Paraiso Verde, in my scenario, grows easily.... it tends to revert. 6 normal leaves in a row. I chopped it to where it lost the variegation, it started growing a new shoot and the first leaf was variegated, but then the same happened, the following 3 leafs are normal again. Growing it in central america, in the garden on a moss pole, high humidity, high light, temperature is consistent around 22c at night to 24c to 30c day. Any idea?

So if you have a baby thai con shipped in wet spag, how long do until you repot? Currently, it's doing great. I've had it for a week. It's well rooted in the moss and lives in my 70 degree, 70% humidity cabinet (higher humidity at night but lower heat.) Do you have a video covering baby thai cons? I've watched the video about acclimatization.

Florida ghost grows slow because of the white (at least for me) so for some beginners with anxiety (aka me lol) it might not be the best
