Indeed, scripture also mentions that we are to drink before our God in Torah. There's also many writings warning against too much and how too much can affect your health and prosperity. It's honouring to say a blessing to Hashem and to drink a cup to His Glory.

Alcohol is forbidden in the Torah. No prophet of God Almighty drank any intoxicant, whether wine or beer, whiskey or vodka, rum or champagne. It is simply sinful.
