I’m Vincent Racaniello, Earth’s Virology Professor.

I’m also a professor of virology at Columbia University in New York. I’ve been doing research on viruses since 1976, and teaching virology in classrooms and online since 1999. On this YouTube channel I share videos of my lectures, podcasts, and more.

Regarding pre-exposure rabies prophylaxis, wouldn't that also protect you if you were bitten by a bat in an endemic region and didn't realize it?

It's rainfall and maybe economic crisis. In Brazil, Pres. Lula refused to purchase the Japanese vaccine against dengue - so, incompetence is also a factor. Lula's Workers Party used to be very good in public health - one of the Representatives who created the National Health System was in the party - Dr. Eduardo Jorge left the party at the end of 2005 and is now in the Green Party. The guy is a giant and maybe you would like to interview him! (He's an M.D.)
