PERFECT 2X2 BUNKER RUST EXPANDABLE BASE DESIGN 2023

This is my take on what I believe is the closest to a "perfect" 2x2 bunker design in rust. No half walls to save on cost, no issues with placing surrounding foundations or walls throughout the base, and no stability issues as you expand vertically. You can implement this bunker into ANY 2x2 design you already have or learn later on. Teammates new to rust? No problem. The bunker is incredibly easy to seal so no worrying about the new guy being the last to get offline. Personally, there are other bunkers that have their advantages but I do enjoy keeping a traditional 2x2 layout in the core while making it easy to get in and get out. This bunker achieves ALL of that while working around a oil refinery in the core.

Lastly I'm sure someone in the comments will rant about how I may not be the first to do this. I'm sure one of the other thousands of rust players have found / recorded building this bunker. I'm simply making an attempt at teaching how to build this as I would like someone to teach me. Just wanted to go ahead and get that out of the way.

So bad news... the bunker isn't exactly "perfect". Luckily the fix is easy and you can still follow this video step by step.


***YOU NEED TO PLACE A SINGLE DOOR FRAME INSTEAD OF A DOUBLE DOOR FRAME WHEN SEALING THE BUNKER***


The DOUBLE door frame barely clips out of the 2x2 core allowing it to be destroyed from the outside and compromising the bunker. This is only if the honeycomb on what the "front" of the base has not been placed. However, if someone were to attempt to offline you, raid through that side specifically, there is a chance (albeit a very small one) that some 1000 IQ gigachad takes advantage of this or the frame be broken through unlucky splash damage. I'll make sure to be more thorough moving forward. My bad guys 😅

I never did these types of bunkers because they seemed too intimidating to build and I was scared I would mess up due to how complicated other YouTubers make it seem, the way that you showed us makes it seem so simple and it really is.
I can wait to see the expansion because this is by far the best bunker base I’ve ever seen.

10:50 you can also fix the walls not placing issue by placing them through the ceiling from the first floor, this is usually what I end up doing.

I’m just gonna say from the birdseye view, the scenarios you show BY EXAMPLE, and the SLOW teaching has me hooked.

Everyone should do this while teaching how to build!

Too many people skipping place to place and speeding through the build and expecting us to slow the video down is annoying. Because YouTube rewind is 15 seconds when double tapping it gets mad annoying rewinding figuring out what’s happening sometimes.

So this is great for viewer retention as well as my sanity!

I've built the bunker third floor is the roof access found a way to bunker the top door and front door plus that ceiling you've shown in this video pretty much bunker to both entrance and bunker to core very handy for a solo like me thanks for that ceiling one got it on first try added two more bunker doors two of them opened with that double door twig I had to use triangle floor make the jump up smaller to roof extra protection maybe I'm paranoid anyways lol make sure that shelf is always twig you can put a roof on it break it then half wall twig another shelf for jump up and bunker it was kinda cool just created it less an hour ago both entrances and core had bunkers 😅

I made my own personal design 2 by 2 that extends into a hidden tc in honey comb that is still accessable with 3 different bunkers throughout the base with tight nit spacing making it hard for rocket raiding due to small space to work in unless you blow through walls which your actually going to have to anywaya due to it having 3 bunkers

Hey dude, nice bunker & great vid! - Just to let you know:- Where you was trying to place the door frame and you came to the conclusion it wouldn’t let you place. Once you’ve placed the single door frame below(the one we use to seal and open the bunker) it will then let you place the door frame and still allowing the bunker to work all while adding raid cost if they go through doors! :) just fyi if this hasn’t been discovered yet :)
