My son is 6 as well. He’s homeschooled, can write full sentences, reads chapter books, and does math including multiplication, division, and fractions. But you keep trying it your way!

My 6 year old did that 2 years ago he knew everything in kindergarten before going because we teach our children in ways they enjoy it snd help give them the best life we can

This is not free schooling. My wife and I free school with our five daughters. My 14 year old will be graduating next semester. What this lady has described is neglectful parenting.

MY HUSBAND & I taught our daughter to read/write and do multiplication during the pandemic. AND we both WORKED FULL TIME. By the time schools opened back up, she was far more advanced than 90% of her peers. It was the MOST REWARDING experience ever! We ended up leaving Cali for Texas because the public school system here actually cares MORE about CORE STUDIES VS WOKE STUDIES. ❤ CHEW ON THAT NEWSOM.

I read a ton as a kid. It was one of my favorite things to do. I don’t recall ever being taught to read.
