I had an 1898 Websters, it got sold when I was out of town. I found a 1933 ("model") edition on eBay and later bought a 1959 edition. When it arrived I put the 1933 & 1959 side by side and the 1959 edition is 3/8" less in thickness. Online dictionaries are like Wiki but worse. Wiki revised history in conformance with the narrative and what one can be aware of. Online dictionaries change the meanings of words almost daily and offer NO etymology which is the root origin, original meaning and soul/energy behind the word. Not the place for a dissertation on it, but words have power - they're used in "spells" or laws, which are signed in cursive, having the literal curse placed upon them, then handed down, CAST, upon the (sheep) people to OBEY voluntarily or be corralled by the sheep dogs (order following enforcers) to achieve compliance.
