The markings and text are 100% American. The Dutch version have Dutch logistics markings (grenade nr. 606 -which is just a follow up numbering of the grenades that are issued since WW2) but the LOT-number start with NIC (manufacturer) and month and year. Every constructional detail on your grenade is simular at the German design. Also the pins you can see in the 6 drilled holes. Also the fuze (which also hold the lever/spoon) is identical. Only differance is that the body is longer beneath: there is a extention.
I also find on the web that NIC company Germany, now have a production plant in the US. So the US goverment can say it's a American product. Same as the M240 (Belgium designed and manufactured Machine Gun-with some small differances- and the Italian M9 pistol: originaly European designs and companies, but they put the production in the US. Same fore the Army Multicam uniform: the fabrics are designed in The Netherlands.
I was suprised that the US model Flash Bang is replaced by a new -European- grenade. Proberly this is a money issue. In the past, every country/ army produced their own stuff. Here in Holland, all grenades ( own design and made) became obsolete a few years ago. Now we use the Swiss RUAG frag grenade (in use with dozen army, also the UK), British smoke grenades (also in use with dozen countries), and the German Flash Bang. The German manufacturer claims that it's in use by many army's world wide.
At the end: why keep a own expensive production alive, while a simular product can purchased cheap from a commercial company.

It's German manufactured. By the company of N.I.C. In Hamburg. Dutch goverment uses these also (slightly different design, though, but fuze is exactly the same). Spoons and pins are around here.
Only thing I'm wondering is, is why the US uses German grenades these day's. And not the famous Hex shaped body with holes in the Side. Funny.

You can actually reload these with ease. Not going to say how to, but especially for US citizens, it is just silly to claim that they can't be made functional again. Not that you'd want to with a full flashbang load..
