Once you play VR games that are awesome, and we are totally emersed in that world you don't want to go back to flat gaming.

It's not impossible to know whether VR will be around. VR isn't going anywhere, and adoption will grow exponentially. I've no idea how anyone could go back to flat gaming after VR. It feels so disconnecting. You mention many VR games 'feel the same' because of their perspective, but you could say the same for regular flat games. First person shooters now just seem copies of each other with a new skin. I've had a Rift for almost 2 years and love it. :)

VR will kill most use of monitors and TV's for gaming. That's not to say 2D gaming won't be a thing, but use of VR glasses or headsets will replace the screen entirely and offer 2D experiences, 2D+3D experiences where the game plays on the monitor and you're in the environment (even with a friend next you fully rendered). There's so many possibilities they've not even touched on.. VR will explode in the next 2-3 years.

It's not that people don't want to play in VR. It's just that most normal people don't want to spend more money on a cheaply made VR setup then they did on their own system that runs it.

s it just me? or does it seem as though game developers are not even trying to make anything descent for vr. It just seems like they don't really care of putting any thought behind it's development and it's games. In my opinion if you want this platform to evolve you need to push it by developing full length games the gaming community is interested in and stop with the tech demos!!! It is really a shame because there is so much promise with this platform.

You said that most people wouldn't want to play through a leghnthy game like skyrm with VR but that's literally the only thing holding me back right now, I don't want to pay for a VR specifically for gaming just to play a "demo" I WANT long games, otherwise it might as well be worthless

Tbh I don't think its gonna be a thing unless your able to freely move as well instead of basically a series of concave spheres.

I know about the impossibilities but I reckon it's shit without it.
