Movie Magic HD episode 12 - Stop Motion Animation

How stop-motion animation works with an emphasis on the work of Willis O'Brien, Ray Harryhausen, and Phil Tippett.

Documentary series dealing with every aspect of special effects in movies, from low-budget make-up to multi-million-dollar computer-generated graphics. The clear presentation includes descriptions of the creation and technical problems of the effects, and interviews with effects technicians, directors, stars and other crew. Each episode deals with one topic, effect or technician (eg theme park rides, CGI, Stan Winston), concentrating on one or more current or recent films.

I 've loved stop motion since I saw Kong at age 7. I try to see everything I can and studios such as Aardman and Laika have produced some stunning work. I highly recommend Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio, amazing.

I remember the whole movie Magic on the Discovery Channel and I loved it and somebody say the DVD release man ever had that I will never leave my house

It's cool it still exists in some form, however, to generate movie monsters and stuff, all now uses cg so this is almost another lost art.
