Thank you very much for liking the first generation of products by the DeskPi team. We are taking time to complete the first batch of mass production.
We are very concerned about user feedback. So we have listened to them and taken necessary actions. We will add the following features to the first batch of mass-produced DeskPi Pro
1. GPIO extension header
2. M.2 to SATA adapter board
3. Infrared receiving module
As you know, the cost will increase a lot to add these features, but in order to thank you for your appreciation on the DeskPi Pro, we have decided to keep the price at 54.99 until the end of the pre-sale. At the same time, in order to maintain the high performance-price ratio of DeskPi Pro, after the pre-sale, we will only increase the retail price by $5 to 59.99.
These three functions are added temporarily in the production process, which will extend our production time. Please give us more time(20-25th Oct) to provide you with the ultimate Raspberry Pi Case DeskPi Pro.

3:42 I agree. having a disk activity light is very useful for helping to identify if your system is just busy or has hung.

This is nice. Are there other desktop / thin client cases on the market?

This could possibly change everything! For those who are looking for basic and low power consuming system, this is a full fledged device I guess 🔥

You are way too young to have anything be "old school", but you're right. As an old guy, I love that blinking HDD LED. 😃
There is one thing I'd love to see them do with this: Make an optional "Tinkerers Top", which instead of sealing everything in, would give you the ability to slide the SSD into a set of rails, with a connector on the rear. The kit, as is, is perfect if you're committing a Pi to desktop use semi or totally permanently, but if you're still swapping operating systems, having the drive mounted internally just doesn't cut it.

Just got this case from DigiKey two days ago (4/2). It's a great case, but the SSD controller doesn't seem to be working correctly, as the RPi4 will not boot from the SSD consistently. I got it to boot once, but then...it won't. The RPi4 and SSD were set up and working perfectly using a little SSD-to-USB adapter I got from Amazon last year, and it's been working fine for almost a year. However you have to use the built-in SSD controller in the DeskPi, and it simply doesn't seem to work. There are a number of people reporting this same type of issue in the DeskPi's YouTube "How-To" video comments section, and I added my report there as well. I also emailed their support yesterday, so we'll see if they respond.

It's entirely possible that 1) DeskPi has addressed this (apparently) known issue with a new SSD controller, but 2) the DigiKey stock is old enough to *not* have the new controller. If that's the case then it should be a very simple matter to remove/replace the old controller card with a new one. This would literally be a 5-minute fix. However as I've not yet heard back from them, I can't say this will be the case. If it isn't, I'll simply return the case to DigiKey later this week--which would be a shame, because other than wonky GPIO and uSD extender cable connectors, this case seems awesome.

About time they found power for the fan in a place OTHER THAN the GPIO. I also like the soft power button and acrylic front. If the case were a little larger you could add items like the RESPEAKER so you can do ZOOM meetings with quality audio.

With so many leds that don't do anything besides consuming power is always good to have a led with the disk activity. Is not old school, is useful.
