On todays video Im working back on my Brother & Sister in laws 2001 Club Car DS golf cart. This cart is equipped from the factory with a Regen 2 drive system. Unfortunately the tired cart only runs about 11mph tops and they have asked if we could speed it up some. Someone has previously tried to speed the cart up but has failed to do so. On todays video I swapped out the entire drive system with one from a 2014+ Club Car Precedent Excel system.

Great tutorial! I'm digging into my 84 EZGO plucked out of the woodline this week. I cut out all the old system so far, hoping i can get it ruining on new, 48V system. It needs everything. Most the bolts just snapped off. Was thinking of calling PlumQuick and seeing if they have a complete kit, rather than trying to piece it together myself. Between them and Golf Carts Modified should be able to get the needed parts and harness, I hope. I tend to save all my old parts, but sure don't have the inventory you do!

( i also should start installing relays per your advice if i'm gonna do stuff for friends with acid batteries. I just shut the Batteries off in my burgundy cart, so never worried about a drain. :) )

Id love to see you work on some ParCars. They seem to be a love or hate golf cart and not too many people know much about them.

The gray 4 pin connector you mentioned behind the dash is for a factory Visage system on the precedent/tempo models. While it does use the same style plug as the older DS IQ harness for the remote diagnostic hookup extension, it’s not for that on this application. The precedent does have the diagnostic hookup for programmer on the dash and those 4 wires go through the 9 pin connector.

Nice work. @7:25 those are the F/R wires, not tow/run. Can't imagine doing all these builds and making videos, editing, etc. Thanks for sharing.

Great video. I love seeing stuff like this. Did you consider replacing the speed control magnet in the motor or does this motor not have one?

After watching your video on the TEEKON™ motor upgrade, I decided to install the motor on my 1996 Club Car DS. Ran into some problems since the controller is the compartment with the motor rather in the compartment with the batteries, The original Controller cover will no longer fit and the wire from the relay is almost too short. I did find that with Regen on, going down a hill will cause the motor to trip out. Powering the system off and back on will get the motor running again. Turning Regen off fixed the problem. I am checking with SilverWolf Motors on this issue. I also installed a 48v Lithium battery I assembled from 16 105Ah 3.2v cells. The Golf Cart will do 25 mph going up a hill.

What is that black rectangular item with two bolts located directly in front of the two middle batteries? It looks as if a black & red wire are attached to it.

Have u ever converted a grey controller to a white controller on a precedent? All the wire diagrams look the same. Is it just plug and play?

Had planned to install the same single 48 v 60ah lithium battery in my ancient DS, but because of the frame ( slanted ) as yours, I elected to go with LiTimes GC2 48v 30ah batteries which fit in the same frame as the lead acid I removed. Decided on 4 batteries, giving me 120ah when wired in series. Left the middle frame empty, from which I could install 1 or 2 more batteries in the future, further increasing my AH capacity. Used the same shunt to a LiTime battery monitor. You indicated that you connected you charger negative to the shunt P-. Is this preferable than connecting the charger + and - to the battery system itself?

Thanks for the video. Just did this install for my 97 DS. Was the controller unlocked ? Did you upgrade the speed sensor ?

Does this cart have regen? Is it true that if you go lithium your golf cart can shut off if the battery if full when Regen kicks in ?
