Covid. That's what. Facts. I train strictly with HR monitors and power meters. In January I fielded a session which was my best ever (4 Watts/kg for 100 minutes) Two days later I had Covid. Training again after 12 days, for a given HR I'd lost 25% power. Only now after five months have I returned to the pre Covid level. I never felt bad or ill. But Covid has lasting effects which should not be ignored. Remco might have felt ok, but his power output was certainly compromised.

We saw this also in the Giro and Vuelta. Remco is new to mountain races with more days so he blows up alot with his powerfull attacks

It is not covid, it is not bad form. It is just remco being remco.

Skjelmose played it well, played the tired card when Gall took off and wanted to go right before the next group latched on. Guys, What’s in the water in Denmark? Need to place an order.

Remco is an awesome rider, its just that he is peaking at a time when there a other really awesome riders, so it would be tough. this race still isn't over, remco can still come back!

Remco may want to be a great stage race rider but he may need to adjust expectations to being a great one day race rider. He is still young though and can learn if he cares to. If he already thinks he knows everything then he's going to have hard time in his career. Everyone says Geraint Thomas is getting older but there's something to be said about being an experienced rider. You know your body and how it responds to situations and mentally you know how to manage yourself to your advantage. The man was third in 2022 TdF and second in this year's Giro. Not bad for an 'old man'.

Remco won the flattest Vuelta in years, after Roglic crashed out. Before that he was looking like getting caught. He's very talented, but may have to readjust his sights to being a great classics man, rather than trying to satiate Belgium's desire for a Merckx heir (there won't ever be another Eddy....not even from Slovenia).

Why all the hate on Remco? Everytime he doesn't destroy all other riders all the comments bash on him. Dude is a fine rider and it's not his fault the media is hyping him and he "can't live up to it". He'd smoke every single one of you insecure keyboard warriors lol

Vingegaard vs pog vs skjelmose for next year's tdf... My head just exploded.

We have been hearing about Remco's potential for about 100 years... maybe if he wasn't hyped so much it wouldn't be such a shock when he doesn't win. Time to realise this guy is not as good as people want him to be in stage races. So over hyped its ridiculous. almost all of his big results have come on the back of a lack of competition. vuelta - roglic crashed, biggest threat was Mas and the 3rd week was soft, WC - MVP was in jail and the course wasn't hard enough for big GC riders to shine, Leige - Pog crashed, Giro - Rog blew him away on a speed bump and Rog made him look completely stupid in Catalunya when he let Remco do all the work and then blew him up with 50m to go. Dude is an elite TT rider but he has a lot of work to do if they think he is just going to turn up to 2024 TDF and smoke everyone. Question marks still over his climbing ability in hard stages, and his tactics. The attacks pog put in last year to try and unsuccessfully shake Jonas were stunning and Jonas could respond. We have not see Remco respond to anything at all like that yet. 2022 Leige is his best result imo.

We all know why Remco stopped the Giro Tomas and Roglič, they would humiliate him as soon as he saw a hill😁

You can compare this to San Juan at the start of the year. Going good, but a bit off his best.

What Remco does is amazing. After Covid and with only 10 days of training before this Tour? The first day he didn't even do 100 km. I wonder if it's healthy though.

2nd on GC at 17 seconds, you'd think he hadn't made the cut off by these comments 😂 still 5 more stages 🤔

I wanna know why he is even doing this race? Guess he is young and competition experience never hurts.
