I ditched Elementor Pro, too. I've owned it since it came out... it was always slow in comparison to Gutenberg- all they ever added was fluff without increasing performance. Now that Gutenberg has made advances, I don't need their bloated pagebuilder anymore. Good for you!

It looks nice, but in practice it´s not usable.. you even can't change the setting or paddings on mobile etc. It´s only usable when you use other plugins. And then I can use bricks right away. Block Editor as a page builer is useless.
