Ikea Trotten - 1 Year later, is it still GOOD?? (UK 2023)

So back in January 2022 I bought and built the Ikea Trotten sit stand desk. A lot of you were disappointed with the lack of me demonstrating the sit stand function of this desk.

Just over a year later, I'm still using this desk for my day job, so 37 hours a week, is it still good? YES! It doesnt squeak, no loose screws or bolts. It's still sturdy as the day I built it.

Do I recommend this desk, YES!

The best part about this video is that it feels so genuine. No fakes trying to make things ‘appear good’ no stupid editing or any distracting music. This is how things should be in my opinion.

I've just received my Trotten. To my surprise, they exhibit on their website a brownish beige colour, but actually give me a greyish beige colour... Maybe this piece of information is important for future buyers...

Cranking feature - height adjustment without power... Seems like a great feature.
Worrying about the engine breaking within a few years or messing up is not worth it.
I'd say either get a hand-crank desk or get some 1000 USD super-ultra electric standing desk frame.

Went to the physical store to check out the desks and this got my attention. It was just too narrow for me (this one in his video is 120cm x 70cm) but upon asking, they had a 160cm x 80cm one and that was perfect for my setup (2 monitors, 1 laptop) so I got it!! So excited to get it, I had it delivered so just waiting now.

one cable less for the table... no worries about motor problems plus Ikea gives 10 year guarantee. Also it is much much cheaper than the others.
