Brazilian here, just need to correct the aunt part in the post. Her aunt never hosted the program, instead she worked at a gymnasium who host a social program funded by the city, it is a government program, her aunt wasn't rich.

I’ve gone through two ACL tears surgeries in the same knee. Seeing her do so well at the olympics and hearing about her injuries was so inspiring it brought tears to my eyes

Very inspiring to hear. I got my second ACL tear on the same leg over 2 years and sometimes wonder if I’m not meant to be an athlete. I probably won’t be an Olympian but this gives me the confidence to do the sport I love :) (with being extra careful though)

Mine was repaired WRONG and I dragged it around for 30 years with several “clean ups”. Finally got a total replacement and can finally walk without staring at the ground. With replacement, the ligaments don’t change so it’s loose and can get sore with too much anything.

I tore 3 of my muscles and an acl and a meniscus there is no greater pain i am saying u i wasnt even able to sit up from my bed and my mom cared for me for 2 months i was literally crying whenever i sit up to go to toilet i was playing volleyball but now i am not even thinking about playing volleyball again... mad respect to her i could never and i couldnt anyways😂
