As young Jerry Landis in 1962, Paul Simon penned "The Lone Teen Ranger." It tells of his envy of the famed old west TV star, to whom his girlfriend gives considerable more attention. She even goes as far as to kiss the screen! Although first heralded by trade papers as a hit, in 1963 the song reached its peak at only number ninety-seven on the charts.
