Admiring Steve as I did I remember looking at Kent sitting next to Steve during the men's Bible study and thinking how fortunate Kent was to be there with Steve. Little did I know that it was actually the other way around and how fortunate Steve was to be sitting next to Kent. It's just a reminder to me to put my faith more in God's word and less in the men that preach it. That said, I'm glad to hear John MacArthur at 84 is out of the hospital. Knowing how much Steve admirers John I thought of John immediately when this news about Steve broke. I hope that Steve is seeking counsel from John.

We should all concentrate on our local church more than any celebrity church with their celebrity pastors. who write more books than are needed.

Well I don't know why some Pastor don't want to even mention Steve Lawson's name.
They preach, mention to pray but don't want to mention his name.
However when someone else sins they mentioned their name and him/her is out of the church. 👉🏻
We must treat S. Lawson or anyone who sin with love and compassion.
5 years it's sad, a harden heart.
However God can forgive us! ☝🏻

This whole scandal is absolutely heartbreaking - I keep thinking of all the men that he formally fellowshipped with, all the things that were said to encourage each other, all those years - now stained.

What makes me weep is not just the scandal of what Steve Lawson did, but the way it’s being played out by the church. It’s not only a bad witness to the world but a discouragement to the body.

I amazed about how this is being dealt with, when Ravi Zacharias' scandalous affairs were uncovered, everyone concluded that he wasn't even saved or ever saved and a false teacher. But when Steve Lawson does the same, his friends, who are spiritual leaders are covering for him...not fair!!!! UNJUST!!!

Has anybody ever thought about the possibility that Stephen Lawson has taken off and that the elders of Trinity don't have any idea about any more than already what's been revealed? This is Lawson's fault not the fault of the elders. It's only been a few weeks and people are already casting stones at those who have had to deal with this and protect the church. When you've walked the path that these elders have walked then you'll be able to speak to this situation.

Your comments are excellent! By not addressing the specifics of the situation to the congregation and in essence “keeping them in the dark” is not being forthright In the truth Numbers 32:23 “You have sinned against the Lord, surely your sin will find you out.” Amen
