The nationwide Rogers Communications outage that took millions of Canadians offline lasted about 15 hours for most people, but the impacts are still being felt. Today, many are calling into question the cause of the outage, compensation for customers, network reliability and competition for Rogers. Abigail Bimman looks at what happened in a meeting between telecom companies and what's next following the massive outage.

The Rogers customers frustrated over the outage and the impact it's had on their lives are now wondering about compensation. Anne Gaviola explains how consumers are questioning whether they will be compensated and whether or not they will take their business elsewhere.

Canada's premiers and territorial leaders gathered in B.C. on Monday, as they looked to push the federal government to increase federal funding for health-care services and First Nation communities. The premiers spoke with health professionals about the dire need for more money and spoke with Indigenous leaders about the child welfare system and residential schools. Richard Zussman reports.

The country's emergency rooms are struggling with lengthy late times and staff shortages. Jamie Mauracher reports rising COVID-19 cases and a concerning new variant that could make things worse.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is criticizing Ottawa for its decision to return a repaired turbine from a Russian oil pipeline to Germany, warning Moscow will see this as a manifestation of weakness. Redmond Shannon explains the controversy, as more Russian strikes hit Ukraine with deadly consequences.

Pope Francis is set to visit the First Nations community of Maskwacis and will spend time with residential school survivors at the site of what was once one of the country's largest institutions. As Heather Yourex-West explains, the community is bracing for emotional impact.

Finally, one of Canada's most notorious criminals, Maurice "Mom" Boucher, died over the weekend. He had been battling cancer and was the former Hells' Angels boss and was serving a life sentence for murder. Mike Armstrong reports.

Internet and phone access should be a public good offered to all Canadians. People shouldn't have to pay these corrupt corporations to connect to a wireless network.

These big 3 monopolies need to be broken up. Canadians are tired of their price fixing market manipulation ways. Our rates are among highest in the world.

All corporations should be made to reach a baseline service across the board not just telecommunications.

Pause this immigration delusion and ensure OUR OWN are cared for. So sick of seeing Canadians taking a beating on every spectrum in this country while ungrateful new comers plug up our system and then have the nerve to complain.

This is what happens when all the owner of Rogers cares about is money, not about providing a quality, redundancy, time to put Telus, Bell, Rogers and Shaw under the microscope and put an end to their monopoly and manipulation of the Canadian communications market.

In UK you can get 25gb of 5G data for 10 GBP. In Canada, data prices are ridiculous for a 3G service.

There should be more competition, the big 3 have a monopoly, and are charging way more than most countries. The same phone plans in the US are about 1/5 the cost.

These companies have a monopoly in Canada. They can charge what they want with no incentive on their part to provide consumers with more reliable cheaper service relative to what our neighbors south of us are paying. Open up the market to foreign competition.

As a Freedom Mobile customer, I was helping out my Rogers friends by sharing my LTE with mobile hotspot. The same friends that mock me for not using Robelus. At least my bill is less than $40/mo... not $300/mo like that ridiculous woman in the story.

ER is under staffed because of the college of physicians. They don’t allow new Canadians who are doctors to practice here. They tell them instead that minimum experience is 10 to15 years driving taxis or working at Mac Donald’s in Canada.
