How to Create a QR Code in Excel for Every Need (FREE File)

How to make QR codes in bulk for a website, PDF, etc. in Excel using formulas.

In Excel, we can create QR codes in bulk for free for use in any application using a formula. Unlike Google Sheets, you can simply copy the image and paste it where you need it. QR codes can be used to open URLs, store mobile tickets, contactless payments, even obituaries on headstones, to name a few. Because they are simply a graphical representation of alphanumeric strings, they don't expire.

Now, there are a couple of ways you can create QR codes in Excel. We'll start with the IMAGE function technique, which is available with Microsoft 365, and then I'll show you an alternative way which allows you to create colored QR codes and works in all versions of Excel. At the end, I''m going to answer some frequently asked questions, so stay tuned.

Looks so easy in your case, but what if it has to work on the shopfloor machine with Office 2013 and no access to the internet?
I've been there. Tried to generate the image via the VBA, but I couldn't make it work.
So I found some PHP library and created my own api on the internal server. As it was already XLSM file, I am just downloading the picture and placing it to the range in VBA. 😎

Hello, I have been trying the Google URL, but I get the error : #VALUE! Also, there is a message on the Google website that says: "Warning: This API is deprecated. Please use the actively maintained Google Charts API instead." What can help this error?

I prefer to do it with Lambda, but since the maximum size is 375, is it possible to make the size as an optional parameter with a default size of 150?
So in case the user didn't enter any value it will be by default 150 and if entered more than 375, such as 400, the function takes 375.
